I have the plague. My brain is liquifing and escaping through my nose. Charming image, isn't it? I am blaming the diseased monkeys I work with....more than half of them are out sick this week. Lucky them.

I've removed myself from the realms of social (in person) for the time being. It's for your own safety. I'm whinning, blowing my nose constantly, and I think I sound like a duck when I speak. I suppose that is a hazzard of having a slightly unique voice. *grump*

Side note ** the boredom post was after the first two days of ickiness, when bonding with the sofa was no longer a happy, welcome thing.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

May the tryptophan course merrily through your body, may the sofa be unusually comfortable, and may the rolls be the perfect size for throwing at annoying relatives/friends!

Do you ever go through your music collection and re-discover an album you really enjoy? You know...the ones that were listened to religiously when you first bought it, the ones you still know all the words to, the ones that for whatever reason have fallen into the background- only to be thought of when you hear a song on the radio.

I have been doing this lately. Partially due to a slight dislike of the local radio stations and partially due to the fact that I really do have some cool music! My cd collection runs the gammut from NIN to chick rock, showtunes to coffee shop mellow, India trance/dance to grassroots, rockabilly to pop. Re-discovery has been an interesting journey!

The latest is Robbie Williams. I believe he's Scottish (occasionally an accent comes through). He's a bit pop and a bit rock, with a edgy-ness. Under the bubblegum beats of some of his songs are some intriguing, funny, surprising lyrics.

I get the strange urge to strap on rollerskates and a sparkly top when listening to "Rock DJ".

*****Completely random side note********

Yes, Kit you have been in my house. It was the night of Hellboy and the drive out 9th street to watch the snow. You aren't going crazy. Well....at least not from that memory. ;)

I will never, ever, look at weigh and measure day the same way again! In two months I've dropped 8.5 inches and significantly lowered my bodyfat percentage! My addiction to Curves is now completely justified.

I could talk about the Kink Karnival or my first (and second) experience with needles. Things could be mentioned about the acquistion of pretty pink flogger or about how I have become acquianted with the Parker Highway Patrol. Instead, I'm compelled to share the radio station broadcast I came across while driving through Quartzite.

The statio is stituated down in the 90's on the radio, right in the middle of the Church stations. I should have continued searching and not stopped to listen, but I was drawn in by some catchy music and an interesting voice announcing the start of a new segment in the night's programming.

"Music and talk for the cutting edge teen!" See why I was hooked? Then came,"Alright, tonight kids I want you to call in and share your stories." Oh, this could be good; I decided to stay a bit longer. "Tell me about the things you wish you had known before you had sex; about the most horrible thing that has happened to you, and how you are going to keep yourself from doing it again." The emphasis here is placed on "doing it" much like the term that is occasionally used in place of "having sex". I didn't listen any further. I could be wrong, but I didn't want to listen to teens crying about how horrible their first times were and how they were going to shut down until they found "the one". The whole idea that any radio station could make a show of this, of reliving teen embarrasment and angst, is strange to me. Actually, it really bothers me.
