Ok....Job fair? Good. Only seriously scared off two potential employers. It is highly entertaining to watch an interview stab itself and nose-dive into the wastelands. Even more so when the cause is one little, tiny, holds the weight of the world, word....diversity.

On the positive side, there were three very good interviews. I am in the running!

Tell me everything you know about Sheridan WY, Yuma CO. , and Lake Havasu AZ. Please.

And then there was the resume. 12 hours of nit-picking, hair pulling, headache inducing perfectionism....and I'm still not sure if it will do the trick. But we shall see. Wish me luck...

A teacher asked her students to complete some well known (or so she thought) phrases for her.

Their responses:

Don't bite the hand that ... looks dirty.

It's always darkest before....Daylight Savings Time.

A miss is as good as a ...Mr.

If you lie down with dogs, you'll...stink in the morning.

If at first you don't succeed...get new batteries.

Don't put off till tomorrow what....you put on to go to bed.

When the blind lead the blind...get out of the way.

An idle mind is....the best way to relax

Laugh and the whole world laughs with you, cry and ...you have to blow your nose.

Happy is the bride who....gets all the presents.

A penny saved is....not much.

Two's company, three's......the Musketeers.

Better late than....pregnant.

Spring snow has an interesting feel to it. It is wet and heavy. It doesn't have the oppressive feel of winter snows. So far, it hasn't been accompanied by the standard freezing temperatures and biting winds. That may be it, but some how I don't think so. This snow feels different. Happier. I haven't quite figured it out yet...

Yesterday brought a house full of people. This was happy. Rarely do people gather at my apartment...mostly due to size, allergies, lack of seating, and me not necessarily being the best at cleaning. But Graham, and then Abra, Linus, and Christin all took the plunge and visited my cupboard under the stairs. This morning at about 4 am I remembered yet another reason for keeping visting abroad...Harley holds grudges. It started with him deciding that he was awake and therefore I should be. He then proceeded to knock stuff off of shelves and tables, bat at my face, try to dig his way under my blankets, and basically throw a tempertantrum. When I tried to lock him in the closet, which isn't as horrible as it sounds - the closet is huge, he threw himself against the door. Thump, thump, yowl, thump, yowl, yowl. Needless to say the Pink Princess got no sleep and the cat is now happy curled up in the middle of my pillows.

Happy Friday, all!

The tattoo will have to wait. The responsible, dear-goddess-I-don't-have-a-job-yet part of me kicked in. Saving. It's a good thing though, for various reasons, including the fact I can now rent my cap and gown, go to Margaret Cho, buy a boomerrang, and still have food without scrimping. And those are just options. Silly that.

I still want a new tat though. ~wistful sigh~

On this lovely, snow covered, first day of spring break Monday - I have found you this:

It should appease several of us....those who are more safe-sex oriented.

Because I don't like leaving my insecure moments at the top of the blog for long...I have found you a poem.

Sonnet by Billy Collins

All we need is fourteen lines, well, thirteen now,
and after this next one just a dozen
to launch a little ship on love's storm-tossed seas,
then only ten more left like rows of beans.
How easily it goes unless you get Elizabethan
and insist the iambic bongos must be played
and rhymes positioned at the ends of lines,
one for every station of the cross.
But hang on here while we make the turn
into the final six where all will be resolved,
where longing and heartache will find an end,
where Laura will tell Petrarch to put down his pen,
take off those crazy medieval tights,
blow out the lights, and come at last to bed.

English geek humor at its best!

It is the point in my semester where I am nervous. Actually, I'm beyond nervous. Can you hear my knees knocking? It wasn't midterm that stressed me out. It isn't even the fact that in about two months I will graduate that is bothering me. I am scared of the prospect of not having a job. I don't even know where to begin. In methods, in fact all through the program, I heard to just be ready for the teacher fairs. The problem is...now that I am out in the schools I am hearing , from educators, that I should be looking now. That interviews happen in March and hiring usually takes place in April. Shit! That doesn't help me...teacher fairs are the end...END of March. How does that work? Lies? Along this line, I've also heard from a few other members in my group who have already looking for jobs. I tried to follow what they said...but I get the feeling they are just cold applying. I've checked out a few school district sites and nothing anywhere says they have positions open. Am I just supposed to apply anyway? There is a part of me...the part that likes having a place to live that says I need to get a job lined up and soon! It is getting louder and making me nervous. To make matters worse, I don't have a resume yet. The plan is to work on it during spring break, but I have no idea what should be included on a teaching resume.

This. This is the part of teaching I don't like. I can deal with the in-school rules and general business but.....UUUUGGGGHHHHHH!!!

Here Ye, Hear Ye! (Yes, I did that on purpose)

The Pink Princess, Most Beauteous BellyDancer, and Supreme Decision Maker of Mandyland is hereby issuing an apology. (Flourish of unrolling scrolls)

Dear Readers, Friends, Residents of Mandyland and all suburbs, Riders of trains, and those that come to visit and randomly get lost in the ever shifting floor plan (that means all of you):

I'm sorry. Of late there has been one too many posts without my voice in them. All too often I have let the CalendarGirl, OfficeBoy, or the Heralds of Fluffiness (See random personalities) post for me. I have fallen back on quizzes, websites, and distractions. Fun as they are, I haven't really been posting.

I will try to remedy this. I cannot guarantee that an occasional quiz or website will not slip through, but.....I will try to break my habit of not putting myself into the posts. I will even try to be coherent during the posting process so not to confuse you (pl) anymore than normal.

In conclusion (just to wrap this up), I will be accepting my new found deity status as goddess of rainbow colored sprinkles and not-quite-whispered-comments-during-movies. Alright, that has nothing to do with anything but thought the public should be aware. Many happy hugs and chocolate kisses to you! (No, not my version of 'let them eat cake'...no beheading me!) (Insert royal wave and re-roll the scroll)

Thank you for your attention. One last bit of business. Whoever set up the "Slip and Slide" down Main Street - Good Job! Next time remember the vat of Jell-O to catch people at the end.

(Shuffles heard as Opalescent doors to the Barbie Castle close)

You are a drumstick.

Absolutely insane. That is how most would describe you. You aren't afraid to take risks, and enjoy putting yourself in strange situations. Most people hang out with you because of your hilarious sense of humour. You light up any bad situation, and can help all of your friends with their problems, except for your own. Because of this, you enjoy being around people like you. Many shut you out for your very weird, random personality, but honestly, you shouldn't care.

Most compatible with: Guitar, and another drumstick.
